One of the famous pair of real-ale "bookends" at the railway station. A favourite calling point on the Ale Trail. The outlet is a large, 4-roomed pub, and each room has its own character and its own locals. One bar is dedicated to cask and one to keg. The pub's beer range is outstanding, with up to 14 real ales on sale and also 26 Keg beers. This is complemented by four real ciders/perries and an extensive British and world bottle range. Pieminister pies, mash and peas are served. Huddersfield CAMRA Mild Pub of the Year 2024.
