This is a hotel, which means that the bar is only open to residents.
This 200 year old hotel, known as the Tan y Bwlch (under the pass) before the lease was taken over in 1890 by Frank Cobden, one of the most celebrated cricketers of his age, and has been popular with walkers and climbers ever since. At the rear is a fascinating bar area that is built into the side of the adjacent mountain.
As of June 2021 it is a fully licensed hotel with guest bar, accommodation and full board available to guests.
