A local landmark, and well known in this area, The Glasshouse is a modern, roadside pub specialising in private functions, e.g. weddings, funerals, parties etc..., held in the purpose built Pollitzer Suite. Long historical connection with the glass industry, once had a bar made entirely of glass: on a site close to the former Pilkington Glass Factory, known locally as - The Glasshouse, but originally - The Kirk Sandall Hotel. Pub of the Season Autumn 2014; can get busy at weekends. Four changing ales including a dark ale, and frequently includes Abbeydale Moonshine.
