The former shop units were converted into the Newt & Cucumber public house for Morland Brewery and opened on the 22nd June 1998. A one room pub with a meeting / function room on the first floor. In 2002 the internal layout was altered and after a general refurbishment the pub reopened as the Litten Tree.
In 2012 after a refurbishment it reopened as the George Wallis. Wallis was a Wolverhampton born industrial design artist who lived 1811-1891.
