Historic Interest
In 1912 & 1922 was called a hotel. A report in the Ipswich Journal** on Oct-25 in 1856 when Edward Corner was the landlord of this beer house states that : "Corner had been in residence at the Fox for 4 years. Application for licence to sell spirits declined on the grounds they thought there wasn't a need for a second license in the area. His appeal was also turned down." A report in the Ipswich Journal*** on 22 Mar in 1887 states that : "Mr Eugene WELLS, bought the Fox Inn, Elmswell for £1,300". (sale of pubs after closure of the brewery at Bacton)
