A traditional community pub with original stained glass windows. A rare local outlet for Sam Smith's cask bitter. Car park to the rear and a large outside seating area in a sunny position. The three rooms all have open real fires and one has a slate floor. The main entrance lobby has a traditional black and white patterned tiled floor.
Tiling, bit of opening-up. (MS) The Engineers Arms is nearby: excellent, but rather opened-out; however, the bar-servery is notable for its screen surrounds and old door; this does serve Sam's OBB. (SP 11/05) Update 6/08 Sam Smiths about to spend £300,000 on the pub which has some subsidence problem (MS 08)
