This old imbibing emporium has been given a more modern makeover in recent years. It retains the long bar with globe lights and the snugs along the windows, though the interior is much brighter than before. The Deer's Head is Belfast's only brewpub, Bell's Brewery can be seen through glass with signs showing what is being brewed. The bar serves their own real ale from kegs. Good food is available, along with sport on tv and there is music in the bar and upstairs.
The brewer has confirmed that all beer is served from traditional kegs under gas pressure therefore do not conform to CAMRA's definition of real ale.
