Long-standing pub in Bagshot formerly called the Fighting Cocks on A30 junction with the High Street. Reopened after a refurbishment in early 2024 but closed Monday and Tuesday. Popular in the local community, this lively pub retains two separate bars and has a pleasant patio and small car park. Craft ale and some bottle ale.
Historic Interest
There has a pub on this site since Elizabethan times. In those early days it was known as the Blackboy but at some time in the late 15th to mid-16th century the name was changed to the Running Deer. It was further changed to the Bull, and finally to the Fighting Cocks in the early 18th century. The current building dates from around 1925, just prior to the building of the by-pass.
