Historic Interest
In terms of history the Cambrian Inn was one of many early 19th century inns and taverns that served the sailors, dockworkers and ship's masters who frequented the busy docklands area of Seaside in Llanelli. The original building would have been of traditional style with a thatched roof and small rooms. In 1872 Marine Street could boast 12 licensed premises with the Cambrian Hotel, Pilot Arms, and Trafalgar Inn next door to each other. Other premises in Marine Street included the Sailors Arms, Friends Inn, Albion Hotel,Mariners Inn, Liverpool Arms, Glanmor Arms, Ship & Pilot Inn, Cardigan Arms, and the Royal Exchange. By the 21st century the Cambrian was the only public house in Marine Street, once the main street of Seaside.
