This large hotel with 16 rooms, perched at the top of a long hill, with excellent views, has had a number of names over the years. One of them was The Lodge, so when Tony and Catherine Brewer purchased it from Enterprise Inns in February 2016, Brewers Lodge seemed the natural name for it.
There is a large main bar, with a smaller bar behind it. There is also a separate restaurant. Large function room opened Apr 2018.
No longer serving Real Ale
Historic Interest
Built over 200 years ago a map of the area dated 1801 shows the original building as “Plas Bedwelty” one of only five buildings in the area at the time and belonging to the family of the infamous pirate Henry Morgan (c.1635-1688). It was formerly a farm and then a public house.
