Well worth seeking, this "wet" (in more ways than one) gem from 1740 is positioned next to the river and also accessible by the Memorial Footbridge, across from the Inclined plane and the Tar Tunnel. Infamous for regular winter river floods; note the gauge on the outside door showing the various heights of the water in past years. This does not detract from the interior of the pub which is comfortable and inviting with two rooms.
Once a thriving community pub, it is now quieter, enlivened by the music nights and occasional outdoor events in season e.g. Bank holidays, etc.
Live music - Traditional Irish Music on Thursdays 8pm and Folk and Acoustic Music Session 3rd and 4th Tuesdays of the month at 8pm.
This Pub serves 1 changing beer and 4 regular beers.
