Friendly and comfortable 15th century pub set by the village green. They have 3 regular Wadworth beers and the occasional guest. Food is home-cooked and served in the bar or dining room. During World War II it became the officers' mess for America's 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment. The pub has featured on TV, most famously in a 1971 episode of Dr Who.

Historic Interest
A Grade II listed building. Partly 17th and 19th century. The Blue Boar existed in 1822, was closed in 1911 and reopened in or before 1931. A Sarah Pearce was the landlady in 1842 and a Stephen Everett in 1867. The pub is linked to the 101st Airborne Easy Company (Band of Brothers), who were based in Aldbourne in the run up to D-Day. It was then frequented by officers; enlisted men had to use the Bell Inn - no longer a pub. It shot to fame in the 1970s when it figured in The Daemons - part of the Dr Who series - as the Cloven Hoof.
