This Pub is Temporarily Closed

This lovely old pub in the quiet village of Padbury has a very modern feel while retaining much of the old building's character and features. Unpretentious, white-painted exterior offers a warm welcome inside.

The large bar, split in two by a wall, has three handpumps (but usually only two in regular use) often with local ale. It has a variety of comfortable seating with tables, chairs and benches.

No food is served, but Luigi's Street Food usually visits on Wednesday (see Facebook page).

The car parking is limited, but there is some parking on the street.

Active Campaign

When the pub was closed and threatened with being sold in in 2020, the Padbury Community Hub Limited (a Community Benefit Society) had active plans to purchase the pub, but the pub was sold and reopened. The pub closed again in Oct 2025, and the Padbury Community Hub was reactivated and have the following plan:

  1. Working with the owners to draw up a 12 month lease for the whole site starting in Jan 2026, with the planned reopening in Feb 2026, with the pub being run by volunteers.
  2. Raise funds to purchase the freehold, with the objective of completing the purchase before the end of 2026.
