Large roadside pub situated in the Low Town area of Bridgnorth. This family focused pub was refurbished in the autumn 2018 to a high standard and is within easy walking distance of Severn park, the river Severn and the town's other attractions.
Four handpulls serve two permanent beers and two changing beers, all from the Marston's portfolio.
The interior has two distinct areas, one for drinkers and the other for diners, both served by one large central bar. Meals are served in both areas with the dining area having table service, whilst meals for the bar area are ordered at the bar. A very comprehensive menu is available with a lunch time menu being available on Mondays to Fridays 12 - 4pm.
Historic Interest
First licensed in 1820 and was known previously as the "Bottle In Hand". The earliest reference in 1726 listed the pub as the "Bottle In Hand" and having its own malthouse. A poster dated 1829 describes a mult-roomed property with a brewhouse and outside buildings consisting of a large yard, granary, coach house and stabling. A photograph dating from 1958 shows signage for Smiths, Aston Model Brewery, Birmingham, who were taken over by W. Butlers, Springfield Brewery, Wolverhampton, in 1956.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers (Marston's) and 2 regular beers.
