This cafe/bakery/brewery is part of the Old Fire Station building just off The Crescent and opened in Summer 2023. It is part of the University of Salford, and, as well as being open to the public, it will feature in academic and research programmes From accounting to biochemistry, and engineering to sustainability, the project provides students with an innovative and real-world learning environment. As you walk in, the on-site bakery is on the right and the bar and cake counter is straight ahead. There are two handpulls on the back wall which are not currently being used (Feb 2024), plus eight taps. There are small beer lists on blackboards on the bar top, with the main listing and prices on a blackboard above the bar which you have to step well back to read. The taps and pumps have small luggage labels attached to identify the beers for the staff. Eight keg and two cask beers are available from the attached Lark Hill brewery although guest beers feature occasionally. The impressive brewery is visible on the left hand side of the premises through a large interior window or from the outside through the old fire station doors. Snack food is from the attached bakery during all opening hours. Although open early for food and coffee etc. Alcohol is only served from 11am. May close early if not busy.
