Totally Tapped is in a late C19 or early C20 mid-terrace shop. Brick build with what appears to be a heavy concrete tile re-roofing in the 1970s or 80s. Most recently Skills International Travel, trade directories give the following incumbents in the first half of C20: 1900 - John Wilson, Hosier (Kelly's Directory) 1904 - Joseph Turner, Boot & Shoe Dealer (Kelly's Directory) 1910 - Mrs Edith Evans, Draper (Wright's Directory) 1914 - John Griffiths, Milk Dealer (Wright's Directory) 1916 - William B. Knight, Hardware (Kelly's Directory) William B. Knight was still trading in hardware from the premises in 1941 (Kelly's Directory). Anecdotal information from a chat with a retired local bus driver in the Tapped in March 2023 revealed that prior to becoming a part of Skills, the shop was run by the Alex Smith Bus Company in the 1960s. Apparently, Skills retained the Alex Smith name for some time after the acquisition.
