A pleasant JD Wetherspoon conversion of the former Whickham Council Offices building opened as a pub in June 2014 and named after the legendary Tyneside rower of the Victorian era Harry Clasper. Who is buried under his memorial in St Mary's churchyard very close by. Not as huge as some of their establishments however there are differently styled bar and lounge areas and it does have a large outdoor drinking area. Very handy for many bus services. Note: Beer with meals available after 09:00.
This Pub serves 4 changing beers and 3 regular beers.
