Particularly attractive Wetherspoon conversion of a former Grade II Listed 1930s art deco cinema - highly commended in the conversion to pub use category of the prestigious 2015 CAMRA and English Heritage Pub Design Awards. Named after its first owner, Walter Lawson, there is some quite marvellous massive glasswork behind the bar counter and an original vintage film projector at the main entrance. Handy for bus station. Alcohol is served from 9am. Please note the dress code: no tracksuits or jogging bottoms.
