A regular winner of the Pub of the Year competition in Northumberland, the landlady has been in the pub for many years and works to keep her cellar well, training all her staff well. The pub is popular amongst locals, though welcomes all and is close to the town's bus station. In addition to 8 handpulls, there is a always Westons Old Rosie and a range of fruit wines from Lindisfarne Winery. The bar area at the front of the building is usually busy, though there is a cosy lounge to the rear accessible from either side of the room. A traditional folk group plays on Sunday lunchtimes.
This Pub serves 5 changing beers (Guest Beers are usually from local brewers, but can be regional or national, too.) and 3 regular beers.
