The Black Boys, a Grade II listed building, parts of which date back to 1655, is one of the most prominent buildings in the market square and has always been an important meeting place in the town. The exterior is decorated with black boys. It also has a claim to fame that once Admiral Nelson danced here.
Today the pub is a small hotel with a large public bar at the front, offering a wide ranging food menu and real ales from Woodforde's, Adnams and Greene King are usually available. It has recently been completely refurbished with en-suite accommodation and restaurant.
The Bure Valley Railway runs seasonally from Aylsham station not far away.
