This is a hotel, which means that the bar is only open to residents.
Bartley Lodge was built in 1759 as the hunting lodge for the founder of the New Forest Hounds. Charles Lyell, a famous early geologist, spent his childhood here. The lodge is now a 3* hotel with a small sports complex (for residents only); it is Grade II listed, stands in eight acres, and is reached by a private road. The phone number above is for the restaurant. The bar is also open to non-residents.
