This is a restaurant, where drinking alcohol, including draught and bottled beer, is only allowed when food is being consumed.

A smart food orientated pub located close to a nature reserve and Woodbridge golf course. It was extensively refitted after a fire which hit the building soon after current owner took ownership.

Cycle racks have been installed to make the pub extra suitable for cyclists exploring the area. Dog-friendly, with doggie treats always available.

The owners are supporters of the local Riding for Disabled Centre at Hollesley.

Historic Interest

Called Cherry Tree until mid-2010. In June/July 1981 edition of Last Orders*** it was reported that this Tolly Cobbold pub had new tenants, Chris & Mandy (previously at Ipswich Hand in Hand) after extensive alterations had been completed. Although a regular entry in the Top 50 Gastropub awards, owners Madalene Bovini-Hamel & Ross Pyke dislike the term gastropub & prefer to call it "a pub with a restaurant". Renamed the British Larder mid-2010 to reflect it having been taken over by the owners of the website of that name & to avoid confusion with the Cherry Tree in Woodbridge. This pub changed hands in early 2015 and was relaunched as The Unruly Pig in March 2015. Photographs of this pub and more historical information about it can be found at suffolk.camra.org.uk/pub/101
