This is an old-fashioned traditional pub, dating from around 1865, that prides itself on real ale and inclusive conversation. It lies between Loughton and Epping Forest and is a ten minute walk from Loughton Tube Station. It has a pleasant gated garden and the pub used by locals and walkers; well behaved dogs are welcome. It serves generous portions of fresh seasonal food and has no T.V., just good ale, good food and good company. Amex Cards no accepted.
