A comfortable, cosy and friendly pub. Unusually for this locality the building has a thatched roof, hence its local name 'The Thatch'. Three beers from Batemans are generally available plus a guest. Reputedly the pub inspired an OO gauge Hornby model, an example of which is displayed behind the bar. Summertime sees the pub resplendent with hanging baskets and it has been the winner of Bateman's Floral Display competition. Try spotting the pub cat, Rufus. They serve pies and have various options including gluten free.
