A warm and welcoming country inn with a traditional feel. It has a comfortable lounge and a small 'Snug' bar. The building is Grade II-listed and dates from the early 18th century and once comprised a number of buildings. It is said that some of the building material came from the former Gilbertine priory at nearby Sempringham where Gwenllian of Wales, the only child of Llwelyn, the last native Prince of Wales, was confined there as a child by Edward 1, who saw her as a threat to his line, until her death aged 54 in 1337. A monument to her of Welsh slate stands on the priory site. Th pub reopened in August 2023 after a short closure and change of tenant. There are plans to have a real cider and meals to recommence.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 2 regular beers.
