Historic Interest
Designed and built by Cecil Howitt & Partners for Home Brewery between 1964 and 1966. It was erected on the site of the New Inn, an earlier end-of-terrace pub, which had Vaults and a Smoke Room. The original Wheatsheaf had been on the corner of Carlton and Sneinton Roads and was rebuilt in the 1930s (Elain Harwood {Historic England} & C20 East Midlands). An Asset of Community Value nomination made by the Nottingham Branch of CAMRA was rejected by Nottingham City Council on 22nd September 2016.
As at November 2017, the freehold for the Wheatsheaf (NT252393) was held by TRUST INNS LIMITED (Reg. No. 3011034).
