This is a very well-appointed independent restaurant and bar situated close to Royal Parade and numerous bus routes. One real ale is usually available, from the St Austell or Bath Ales range. It is a 19th century former police and city treasury building and is Grade-II listed. Open from 1000 for breakfasts, with main meals available until 2100 on Thurs, Fri and Sat evenings (1900 Tue, Wed).
Historic Interest
The Guildhall, including Great Hall, Assize Courts and former City Treasury, were first listed by Historic England on 30th April 1975, list entry number 1113280. The building was reduced to a shell during the Blitz, the part containing the Municipal Offices subsequently demolished, the rest re-roofed, restored and reopened in 1959.
