A Grade-II listed traditional family run village pub dating back to 1737. It was first established as a coaching inn and in the 1800’s was used as the local coroner’s court. Although it has received cosmetic changes over the last few years, with its small cosy rooms, low ceilings, real fire and resident ghost, it still retains its old-world charm. The pub is popular with locals, walkers, families and real ale drinkers.
An extensive food menu is offered with ingredients sourced from local suppliers. As well as Sunday Roast, the pub has themed nights on Tuesday (steak) and Thursday (curry). Additionally, there is a monthly themed night focusing on a particular country (see their Facebook page for further details). A quiz takes place on the last Thursday of each month
The frontage has a pleasant and well-presented seating area which is a sun trap.
