An out of town gastro-pub with a strong local following, having low ceilings and oak beams in abundance, its origins as a Farmhouse and Blacksmith's Forge dating back to the 13th C. An attractive and cosy seating area, having red-brick walls and an ancient fireplace as centrepiece, beckons as you enter the old bar. Drinkers are also welcome in the surrounding area warmed by a log-burning stove. The pub prides itself in sourcing ingredients locally and producing homemade food that is cooked and served with passion. Fullers LP and Timothy Taylor Landlord are regular beers and the pub also serves a house beer Thatched Tavern Best Bitter from Windsor & Eton brewery. The quirky building and friendly staff, coupled with its blend of food, beers and fine wines makes this pub/restaurant well worth a visit.
