The pub is the end of a row of stone built terraced cottages that has seen a more modern housing estate grow up on one side of the pub and woodland maintained on the other, with the Sheffield round walk taking in the path through the woods that emerges into the car park!
Inside the pub has three rooms - a small tap room, lounge and a modern extension at the rear which also contains the kitchen. There is also a decking area at the front of the pub with tables, shelter and heat lamps and a landscaped garden at rear.
The lounge and extension is all dining with restaurant standard food and service, there are promotional themed food evenings midweek early evening (such as pie night, chippy night and tapas night) in addition to the main menu.
The tap room is welcoming to drinkers. Three real ales are available, Bradfield Farmers Blonde is the regular beer on the bar with two changing guests, normally one from Yorkshire and one that is well known nationally.
