Ancient pub with arches overhanging the pavement, expensively and tastefully refurbished by Joules featuring specially commissioned stained glass and wood panels denoting its history. Packed with historical character and charm and with log fires that add to the atmosphere.
A traditional, friendly pub that offers a range of cask ales brewed by the Joule's Brewery, plus a changing cask ales. Downstairs the pub has a bar area, a Farmers snug and a restaurant area that can accommodate up to 50 people dining at any one time. The Oak provides good, fresh and homemade food, more pub than gastro. There is a private function room with its own bar, dance floor & stage, ideal for parties, christenings, funeral wakes, company conferences and so much more. Also available is a private meeting room, ideal for small business meetings and board meetings off site. 'The Coachhouse' area offers a completely different experience, it is the area for casual drinking and dining with an 'Indoor/Outdoor' feel to it. The outdoor space within the courtyard style garden has seating for over 50 people.
The Royal Oak Book Club meets on the last Tuesday of each month in the Snug at 7.30pm.
