This community pub was originally a butcher's shop before it was owned by the Northampton Brewing Company. In addition to the usual pub games, it is the local for two pigeon racing clubs. The separate bar and lounge are both pigeon free areas. The lunchtime meals extend from 12:30 to 6:00pm but are only available Tuesday to Saturday. Renowned for its good value steak and egg meals.

Up to three real ales available, but sometimes just the one, which unusual for this area is from JW Lees.
