On the border of South Lambeth and Kennington, and within easy reach of The Oval cricket ground, this 19th century building, with a striking blue exterior, has been impressively refurbished as a comfortable, popular, single-bar dining pub.

The décor features portraiture in the style of the late 19th and early 20th centuries; can you spot Van Gogh and James Joyce?

There is a terrace in front, and an enclosed, split-level patio and garden (heated in colder weather) at the rear with a Burger Shack and views over the adjacent, post-war estate. The upstairs dining room is available for functions; diners and drinkers are equally welcome downstairs.

Historic Interest

Local listing:- End terrace mid 19th C public house on corner with Caroun Road. Corner is curved and flank wall on upper floors is plain. Pub front is pilastered with modillon cornice (with delicate brattishing) and has arched window and door openings with fancy details in the spandrels. Upper floors in stock brick. First floor windows have stucco architraves and entablature consoles. Central of the three front windows also has a pediment. So too does the curved window on the corner at first floor. As second floor the windows have cill brackets and simple architraves. No curved window at this level. Rebuilt plain brick parapet (cornice gone)
