This food-orientated gastro pub is community owned and understandably community focussed with local history displays. Local artists are often featured on the walls alongside racing silks that give the pub, formerly known as the Wheatsheaf, its name. There is a bar with three hand pumps, although normally only 2 real ales are available. As well as limited seating at the bar there are several rooms and restaurant area given over to dining. The food is very high quality and features locally sourced ingredients. The regular themed food nights are worth looking out for. Dog & walker friendly.
Historic Interest
The Wheatsheaf was a mid-19th century pub as recorded in Kelly's Directory in 1855. Bought by the community in July 2022.
Active Campaign
The Ogbourne Community Pub Society (a BenCom) is campaigning to purchase the pub.
Update May 2022: They have successfully raised sufficient funds, hope to complete the purchase shortly and have the refurbished pub open later this year.
This Pub serves 1 changing beer and 2 regular beers.
