Conveniently situated in the town centre close to the beach and shops, the pub was built in 1760 and became an alehouse a century later. The original name, the Rose, changed in 1876. There is a garden and patio at the rear. Friday night entertainment could be a DJ, disco or singalong. The three Shepherd Neame beers usually include one monthly special from the microbrewery.
