One of Yorkshire (and the UK's) foremost dining pubs and one of the few to hold a Michelin star. The oldest bar of this thatched village inn dates from the 14th century and lis appropriately furnished with solid, antique furnishings. There are three restaurant areas, including the outside dining area, as well as a small private upstairs dining room. Owner chef Andrew Pern has been there since 1996. Up to four local ales on handpull. In addition to the full restaurant menu there are top quality bar snacks. There are several outside drinking areas. Accommodation is in a nine-room annex opposite.
