A friendly country pub at the heart of the community with a lounge bar, separate dining room and a small private dining room/function room. The pub serves excellent meals, using locally sourced ingredients where possible. Walkers and dogs are made welcome, and small functions are catered for. Well placed for accessing Galloway Forest Park to the south. Closed 26 March 2023 due to shortage of chefs and unable to continue on wet sales alone. Reopened under new ownership in February 2024. Real ale reintroduced summer 2025.
