This Pub is Closed Long Term
This street corner local on a quiet street is one of the oldest pubs in the area. It dates back to when Linkfield Street was the main north-south road around these parts. The multi-levelled interior has many exposed beams and cosy areas that help indicate the antiquity of the building. Above the bar is a collection of old plates, teapots and potties. Of particular note are the magnificent stained glass windows and screens, which are best appreciated from inside the pub with a pint. Both Sky and BT Sports are shown in the bar. The White Lion was a Friary Meux pub but was sold to Greene King in 1990. Dogs are allowed in the bar area and the pub has WiFi facilities. Pub grub is sold 12:30-2 and 6-8 Monday to Saturday with roasts on Sunday. The guest beers tend to be from regional breweries such as Black Sheep, Timothy Taylor and Purity. Currently closed but is hoped to reopen.
This Pub serves 3 changing beers and 0 regular beers.
