It’s been a whole year since Geoff Mumford and Bruce Wilkinson retired and Heritage Brewing Company confirmed its permanent home at Burton Bridge Brewery and The Burton Bridge Inn becoming the official taproom for both. We decided to commemorate it by brewing a special beer. Head brewer Al and brewery manager Emma asked Ron Pattinson to find them a recipe that was brewed on the 19th of April in years gone by to mark the date. They settled on an old JW Lees recipe as Manchester holds a special place for them, being where they first met. The result is a deliciously robust 1909 Manchester Bitter at 5.8%, which we will launch on this day.
