Imposing 17th-century inn on the market place in the heart of the village, with seven accommodation rooms and a function room upstairs.

Usually one cask ale is available, and sometimes two in summer. Good value pub meals are served in the restaurant and lounge. An open fire warms the front lounge in winter and at the back there is a yard, smoking area and a garden in which Aunt Sally can be played.

A magnificent collection of board games are available and are displayed in the front lounge on shelves that were once part of the back of the bar when it was in a different location.

There is a monthly quiz on the first Wednesday, and there is also a monthly Wednesday evening open mic session.

Access at the main door has a short ramp leading into a corridor with a single step up to the next level. This gives access to the bar, to the right, and a further corridor to the toilets, a fully adapted WC and doors to the garden. The main lounge bar is on two levels separated by a low step, and the restaurant is three steps up from the bar.
