A new-build Wetherspoon pub sitting opposite the Galleria shopping centre and close to Hertfordshire University. Harpsfield Hall was demolished in the 1930's to make way for Hatfield aerodrome with its notable links to De Havilland aeroplanes including the Comet. The pub incorporates design features reflecting the town's former aviation history and offers a selection of beers from outside of the standard company core range. 2026 Tap Takeovers and Events: March - Ale Festival Wednesday 4th March till 15th March; April 13th-19th - Oakham; May 25th-31st - Triple F; June 22nd-28th - Windsor & Eton; July 27th-2nd Aug - Buntingford Brewery; August 24-30th - Brentwood Brewery; September 21st-27th - New River;

The Charter Market Quarter has many historical links. One of the only free-standing medieval civic clock towers, the site of the First Battle of St. Albans in 1455, during the Wars of the Roses. Allegedly the Boot Inn played host to soldiers fighting in the battle. There used to be 23 pubs around the Market area!
