Independent free-house located on a quiet county lane.

The are three regular beers including two from Weetwood. There is also an extensive wine list of about 40 assorted wines, including two dessert wines and 8 sparkling wines. Pleasant décor, supplemented in winter by three real fires.

The pub offers a high class food menu, including daily specials, that can be served anywhere in the pub. The pub is equally friendly for drinkers and diners, the two co-existing happily. Opens early for breakfast. There is live music on alternate Fridays, but call to confirm. Major sporting events, such as the Six Nations Rugby Union championship and World Cups are shown on the TV screen. Dominoes, scrabble and other pub games are available to be played. There are outdoor terraces both to the front and rear of the pub. There is a small outdoor bar offering a more limited range of drinks when the weather is fine.

Only one 87 bus per day (Mon-Sat) now passes the pub in each direction but all Knutsford/Macclesfield buses pass Peover Superior School (Chelford La/Stocks La), a 10 min walk away, though nearest official stop is at Park Gate Inn.
