Formerly a shop unit, this modern-style bar opened in mid-August 2022 under the name "Al's Star Bar" (confusingly, the same as the existing "Al's Star Bar", now renamed "Hop Star Bar and Beer Store", located at the eastern end of the same street). It appears to have been renamed "Al's Mars Bar" in April 2023 - this may cause trouble or them but we hope not.

An open-plan ground floor room contains the servery to the rear. Additional street-side seating is provided to the front. The bar concentrates on craft beers (in bottle and canned form), wines, spirits and cocktails. No real ale is served - this is the focus of the associated bar further down the street.
