This is a club, which means that the bar may be only open to members.

The most community focused club on Teesside and a credit to the steward, the staff and all the volunteers.

NOW VOTED AS THE NORTH EAST CLUB OF THE YEAR 2025

This Victorian mansion and former school, and regular winners of the Cleveland CAMRA local branch Club of the Year, is a friendly private members' club, renowned locally for its vibrant RnB/rock scene, and where a genuine welcome always awaits CAMRA members.

Though keeping its name, in order to recognise its roots as a former boy's catholic school, the club does not have any connections with the Church.

Dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers ensure that the club's reputation for serving 150 different beers annually continues. Three beers are normally served, with up to 8 beers available during regular beer/music festivals, held during bank holiday weekends. In addition, eight beers are also served over Christmas and New Year.

Housed in a fine old building called Greenholme, and once the residence of the Catholic priests and a former school, it has been significantly refurbished over the years. In addition, a seperate upstairs function room is available.

Non members are made most welsome. You can buy a pint here without being a member of the Club. Equally you do not have to be of any religious faith to join the Club.

A particular highlight is the extensive beer garden with covered decking area and an outside bar with three handpulls.

The committee's ethos is one of continuous improvement, whether that is the decoration, the furnishings, the toilets, the outdoor areas!

Cider is available, but may not be classed as real by CAMRA.

Regular weekend R & B/Blues bands, plus open mic/acoustic jam sessions every Thursday.

Throw in challenging and interesting quizzes as a regular feature and there is little more you could ask for here in this unassuming, quaint club.

Membership is available on request.

The superb outdoor facilities, over about a quarter of an acre of land, include a covered decking area, a large car park, a marquee, about a dozen or more picnic tables and an outdoor bar.

The list of organisations that make use of the Club is too long to mention, but, needless to say, the Club has won the local CAMRA Branch Jo Powell Community Shield for the best Community Pub of the Year 2017, 2019 and 2020, and also Club of the Year 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2023, 2024 and now 2025.

Its support for the local Community is well recognised.

An annual garden party, held on August BH Sunday, raises significant funds for local charities, and where the bands play for free.

Regular children's parties are also held during bank holiday and Christmas afternoons.

Active Facebook page provides up-to-date information of forthcoming events.
