Website

Food-oriented pub opposite the green in the heart of the village. It has several bar areas including the main bar’s separate rear dining space, which can be hired for functions. Food can be ordered throughout the pub. The large garden features children’s play areas and a marquee. There is patio seating in front of the pub, and a large car park at the rear.

The Charter Market Quarter has many historical links. One of the only free-standing medieval civic clock towers, the site of the First Battle of St. Albans in 1455, during the Wars of the Roses. Allegedly the Boot Inn played host to soldiers fighting in the battle. There used to be 23 pubs around the Market area!
