Cask Ale Real Cider

Recently refurbished village pub offering up to six real ales. It has a homely front room with comfortable bench seating, and a dining room at the rear. High-quality food is available every day. Dogs and walkers are welcome, the Chess Valley Walk and Chenies Manor (open to the public) are close by. There is an outside patio with seating and disabled access near the small car park at the rear.

The Charter Market Quarter

The Charter Market Quarter has many historical links. One of the only free-standing medieval civic clock towers, the site of the First Battle of St. Albans in 1455, during the Wars of the Roses. Allegedly the Boot Inn played host to soldiers fighting in the battle. There used to be 23 pubs around the Market area!
