Opened in March 2016 as the Trooper Potts in honour of the town's only Victoria Cross holder, but was refurbed and renamed the Victoria Cross only three years later, with the reason for the latter remaining officially unknown though the locals adopting a spoonerism of the pub name was a likely factor. Hungry Horse chain value pub/restaurant - a spacious 'mega pub' including an upstairs area. A traditional Sunday roast is served. They show multiple sports TV channels in the 18's bar and upstairs. Blue light card holders can get 15% off food only.
