Situated on the banks of the River Itchen as it runs through Winchester, indeed, a braid of it runs under the pub; drinkers will enjoy sitting in the garden with the river flowing by. Good quality food is served and a wood-fired pizza oven is used on busy days in summer months. Winnall Moors Wildlife Reserve is just across the road for those wishing to further escape the city.
