A warm welcome awaits at this 18th-century village free house at the heart of the community. The wooden furniture and open fire help create a cosy feel, and the inside space caters for diners and drinkers. There is an extensive collection of military headwear and memorabilia n the restaurant. The pub offers good food, regional cask ales, local ciders, good conversation, pub games and regular live music nights. There is outdoor seating to the front and rear of this must-visit pub, just off the North Dorset Trailway.

There are small steps down through the main entrance. There is wheelchair access through the rear of the pub via a small ramp from the car park. The ladies toilet has assistance handles, the gents does not, and is a couple of steps up from the main bar area but there is a door from the patio at the front of the pub with level access.
