Housed in a Grade II listed building, this as possibly the largest pub in Barrowford, In 1748 John Wesley, the Methodist preacher, had to hide here when he was chased by a local mob. Before it was the White Bear, this building, built in 1607, used to be the home of cotton king, John Hargreaves. It features modern seating arrangements inside and plenty of benches outside.

Reopened October 2025 and not currently serving food.
